Mateen's wife, Noor, reportedly told the FBI she tried to talk him out of an attack.
The FBI is investigating reports that he was a regular at Pulse, and a number of men have come forward to say they recognized Mateen from previous nights at there or from gay dating apps. Transcripts of these calls were released on June 20 by the FBI. He was armed with an assault rifle and handgun.
